Boris Salchow has created award-winning compositions for some of the most prestigious brands in the world (ADIDAS, AUDI, BMW, LAMBORGHINI, MERCEDES), documentaries (Germany from Above), video games (RATCHET & CLANK, SUNSET OVERDRIVE, DEAD RISING 4, FUSE, RESISTANCE 2 and 3), feature and TV films and drama television series.
Classically trained but just at home in the electronic music world, Salchow’s artistic range and versatility encompasses orchestral, hybrid acoustic and electronic music, and immersive musical sound design.
Salchow began his scoring career writing music for prime time television series for leading networks in Germany. After moving to Los Angeles, Boris Salchow got involved with the growing video game industry, creating the scores for AAA releases such as Sony’s Resistance 2 and 3, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time, Activision’s Fuse and Microsoft’s Sunset Overdrive a.o. He continues writing for film, TV and commercials on both sides of the Atlantic.
After scoring the feature documentary “Germany from Above / Deutschland von Oben” (Buena Vista International), the two hours long format of Salchow’s music and aerial images has evolved into an ongoing series of live performances in symphony Halls all over Germany, such as Munich’s Gasteig, Stuttgart’s Beethovensaal or Nuremberg’s Meistersingerhalle
